Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum have decided to split up after three years of dating. The actress and actor have called off their engagement, according to several people who told PEOPLE. Neither party’s spokesperson has responded to requests for comment.
After working together on Kravitz’s directorial debut, “Blink Twice,” in which Tatum starred, the couple started dating. They chose to split up after becoming engaged almost a year ago.
On October 6, Tatum, 44, and Kravitz, 35, were spotted together at a play in the Red Hook district of New York City. But on a number of occasions, notably when she was out with her “Big Little Lies” co-star Shailene Woodley, Kravitz was seen without her engagement ring.
In an interview about “Blink Twice,” Kravitz reflected on their partnership and explained their artistic bond, saying, “Art is our love language.” We love talking about it and encouraging one another in it since it’s what we enjoy.
In a July interview, Tatum reaffirmed this idea, stating that collaboration may improve a relationship. “If you’re thinking about getting married or having a family, I suggest you and your partner take on a difficult creative project,” he said.
“When you can look at your partner while working on a project, knowing you’re both tackling challenges together, it’s an incredible experience,” he added, adding that it’s crucial to have a creative partner with whom to work.
Deadline revealed on October 29 that Kravitz and Tatum have been cast in the upcoming comedy about extraterrestrial invasions, “Alpha Gang,” which is being produced by Cate Blanchett.
When they were spotted riding a BMX bike together in New York City in August 2021, the couple initially stoked romance rumors. After being photographed at the Met Gala a month later, Tatum officially announced their relationship on Instagram on Halloween by posting a picture of them dressed as a pair from Martin Scorsese’s iconic movie “Taxi Driver.”
