The Weeknd Delays The Launch Of ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ Because Of LA Wildfires

The release of the upcoming album was delayed along with his Rose Bowl concert, and the record is set to come out at the end of this month.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has recently revealed that he will postpone the launch of his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow.

The album’s launch — which the chart-topping artist announced on his official social media channels — has been postponed in honor of those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. Along with the album’s delay, his upcoming Rose Bowl concert was pushed to an unknown date, while Hurry Up Tomorrow has received a revised release date of January 31, 2025. Take a look at the complete statement shared below:

“To honor and care for the residents of Los Angeles county, I am canceling the Rose Bowl concert that was planned for January 25th.”

The city has consistently served as a deep well of inspiration for me, and I am thinking of all those affected during this period.

Given this, I have also chosen to move the album release to January 31st.

I continue to concentrate on assisting communities in their recovery and helping the remarkable individuals as they reconstruct.

With love,

Abel.

In addition to Tesfaye, Beyoncé has recently mentioned the delay of her planned announcement for January 14, 2025, attributing it primarily to the wildfires in Los Angeles. “I persist in praying for restoration and healing for the families enduring trauma and grief,” her statement said.

Tesfaye’s Hurry Up Tomorrow signals the long-anticipated finale to his envisioned album trilogy, succeeding the critically praised Dawn FM and After Hours, which were released in 2022 and 2020, respectively. The album was introduced by the recently launched singles, “Sao Paolo” featuring Anitta, “Timeless” alongside Playboi Carti, and its main single “Dancing In The Flames.”

Alongside the forthcoming album, a film bearing the same title, directed by Trey Edward Shults, is set to premiere on May 16, 2025, featuring Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and Tesfaye himself.
