Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco announce their engagement

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez announce their engagement.

Selena Gomez has announced that she is engaged to music producer Benny Blanco.

The actress and vocalist shared a photo of a big engagement ring on Instagram, captioning it with “forever begins now.”

This follows the couple’s confirmation of their relationship last year.

Pop singer Taylor Swift was one of the well-known personalities to extend her congratulations.

Gomez, a two-time Grammy nominee, shared more photos of her smiling while wearing the ring, along with one of Blanco holding her in what seems to be a closet.

“Hey hold on… that’s my spouse,” Blanco remarked on the post.

Swift responded: “Indeed, I will be the flower girl.”

Rapper Cardi B, actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, and Suki Waterhouse, along with singer Lil Nas X, also expressed their good wishes.

In an Instagram Story posted to her 423 million followers, the app’s most-followed woman shared a video of her ring with family and friends over the phone.

“Yes to this,” she is heard proclaiming, prompting cheers from the other side of the video call.

Gomez and producer Blanco worked together on the tracks I Can’t Get Enough in 2019 and Single Soon in 2023, prior to revealing their relationship.

Blanco, who has collaborated with artists such as Rihanna, Calvin Harris, and Justin Bieber, expressed his enthusiasm for them on the Drew Barrymore Show last May.

“She’s truly the most wonderful and authentic person,” he stated during the talk show.

“All things are entirely genuine.” Each day when I rise, I casually stroll past the mirror while heading towards her, and I wonder, ‘How did I end up here’…

“She’s among the kindest, one of the most delightful, and one of the most modest individuals I’ve ever encountered.”

The Come & Get It artist Gomez had a well-known on-and-off romance with fellow musician Justin Bieber. In 2017, she was also romantically involved with singer The Weeknd.

The star, hailing from Texas, gained prominence as a child actress on Barney and Disney Channel, then built a career in both singing and acting.

This year, she made it onto the billionaire celebrity rich list, as reported by Bloomberg, accumulating a $1.3bn (£1bn) fortune – largely stemming from her Rare Beauty cosmetics brand.

On Monday, she garnered two Golden Globe nominations – one for best supporting actress for her performance in the operatic musical Emilia Pérez and the other for best actress in a TV series, musical, or comedy, for her recurring role in Only Murders in the Building.
