‘Pink cocaine’ was allegedly in Liam Payne’s bloodstream when he passed away

Liam Payne had multiple drugs in his body at the time of his death.

Various local and international news sites have stated that Liam Payne, the former member of One Direction, had various narcotics in his system when he fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The British musician, who passed away at the age of 31, had drugs in his system at the time of his death, including “pink cocaine,” according to an initial toxicology result, ABC News said Monday, citing sources. Methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA are frequently combined as recreational drugs.

Along with traces of methamphetamines, ketamine, and MDMA in his system, as well as benzodiazepines and crack cocaine, the preliminary assessment also revealed evidence of cocaine exposure, according to broadcaster Todo Noticias and a number of other Argentine media sites, including TMZ. The reports have not been independently verified by NBC News.

Despite its moniker, law enforcement agencies claim that “pink cocaine” is rarely made with cocaine and that the pink tint is actually food coloring.

In an August interview with NBC News, Bridget Brennan, New York’s special narcotics prosecutor, stated that pink cocaine is “typical with a lot of the drugs out on the streets” in that it comprises a variety of ingredients. There is currently no definitive date for the public release of the final toxicology study, thus it is anticipated that it will take several weeks.

Payne’s team and local authorities were contacted by NBC News for comment on the reports of the partial autopsy findings, but they did not immediately respond.

Payne passed away soon after a hotel receptionist reported to 911 that a disturbed, drug-and alcohol-addled guest was “breaking the whole room.”

According to audio that Telemundo was able to obtain from local media, the caller stated, “The guest is in a room that has a balcony, and, well, we are a little afraid that he might do something life-threatening.”

Telemundo was informed by Argentina’s emergency medical service, Sistema de Atencion Medica de Emergencia, or SAME, that Payne had fallen from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in the Palermo neighborhood of the city.A few minutes after the 911 call, Payne was discovered dead, according to the same director Alberto Crescenti, who spoke to the Argentine television station Todo Noticias TV.

According to the Argentina National Prosecutor’s Office, Payne died from “polytraumatism, internal and external hemorrhage,” and an autopsy revealed that he had 25 injuries “compatible with those produced by a fall from height.”
