Nicki Minaj has finally received an apology from Erica Mena, who stated that their shared ex Safaree had influenced the Love and Hip Hop star to turn against the Pink Friday rap queen, which she now regrets.
Mena appeared as a guest on the recent Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast, released on Monday (December 23). Soon after, she started talking about her contentious divorce from Safaree, the former L&HH star and musician who was Minaj’s long-term partner in the 2000s and 2010s.
Mena revealed that she discovered Safaree’s infidelity, prompting her to reconsider her earlier unfavorable view of Minaj — a view, she noted, that had been shaped by Safaree’s falsehoods.
“Mena mentioned that she owes Nicki the largest apology possible.”
She clarified that, due to being “love bombed” by Safaree, she believed him when he talked about “everything [Nicki] did to him.”
“It’s amusing how life returns to its beginnings,” Mena observed. “Just like what he did to her, he is doing to me years later.”
“I remember him sharing videos of her reactions with me and opening up to me about everything she did to him.” I never thought to enquire, “So, what did you do to her?”
She remembered that Safaree had once been “saying anything he could to sabotage [Minaj’s] career and take [credit] for her…efforts.”
“I must apologise to this woman because I allowed him to talk to me about her while I was sitting there.” Because, in the end, I didn’t know the truth, I ended up defending and supporting him in a way that seemed cheap.
“It brings everything back around,” she added. “Tables continually shift.” All her statements regarding him are accurate. “All that she experienced with him, I’m experiencing even more intensely.”
