Recently, “Titanic” actress Kate Winslet shared a heartwarming account of an unexpected reunion with a co-star. When Winslet appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” to discuss her new film “Lee,” she talked about the moment that took her back to the height of the film’s popularity.
In addition to playing the role of Lee Miller, a former fashion model who became a photographer during World War II, Winslet also makes her debut appearance as a full producer in “Lee,” managing the film from beginning to end. She clarified that she was involved in every part of the production as a producer, including attending the London score recording for the movie.
Winslet spotted a violinist during the recording session with a 120-piece ensemble who appeared remarkably familiar. “I recognize that face!” she thought, and she kept looking at him, unable to get rid of the sensation that she knew him.
As if to corroborate her suspicions, other musicians mouthed, “It’s him!” as they pointed him out to her. Winslet started to question who he was, even asking himself, “Am I related to this person?” but was unable to identify him right away.
She went to the orchestra after the session ended after which she finally realized that the mystery violinist had also played on the ‘Titanic’ during the famous drowning sequences in the 1997 film. “It was that guy!” Winslet exclaimed, admitting that the event was “just wonderful” and arousing intense emotion.
