According to a complaint filed by a lady from Los Angeles, Metro Boomin, a Grammy-nominated producer who has collaborated with some of the biggest stars in R&B and hip-hop, sexually assaulted her in 2016 and caused her to become pregnant.
The producer’s lawyer denies the allegations, calling the action, which was filed in a Los Angeles superior court on Tuesday, “a pure shakedown.”
In the case, Vanessa LeMaistre, 38, claims that after the loss of her nine-month-old son, she became friends with Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Wayne. According to the lawsuit, she allegedly blacked out while visiting him in a recording studio months later and woke up on a bed to discover Wayne raping her.
A few weeks after the incident, she found out she was pregnant, according to the lawsuit.
The accusations were promptly refuted by the 31-year-old producer’s lawyer in St. Louis.
It’s a complete shakedown. “These accusations are untrue,” stated Lawrence Hinkle II in a statement on Wednesday. “Mr. Wayne is still refusing to pay her, just as he did months ago. In court, Mr. Wayne will defend himself. After he wins, he will submit a claim for malicious prosecution.
Wayne co-produced the majority of the tracks on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and curated the soundtrack. The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and John Legend contributed to his 2022 album Heroes & Villains, which was nominated for a Grammy for best rap album. In addition, he has collaborated with Future, A$AP Rocky, 21 Savage, Offset, and Kendrick Lamar.
According to LeMaistre’s lawsuit, she first met Wayne at a party in Las Vegas in the spring of 2016 and they met up multiple times in the months that followed. She “thought that they had bonded over the ability of music to help people in their darkest moments.”
When she went to see him in September, she was given a shot of whiskey and half a bar of Xanax at a recording studio in California.
According to the lawsuit, “the next thing Ms. LeMaistre can remember is waking up on a bed in a different location with Wayne raping her and being totally immobile and silent.” “She went into and out of consciousness for an indeterminate period of time, but she eventually woke up to Wayne having oral sex with her.”
According to the lawsuit, she was never able to provide her consent.
According to the lawsuit, she found out she was expecting a kid a few weeks later, and it was obvious that the child was Wayne’s. Soon after, she had an abortion.
People who report being sexually abused are usually not named by the Associated Press until they come out in public, as LeMaistre has done. She agreed to be publicly identified through her lawyers and is named in the case.
The damages sought in her complaint, which alleges gender abuse and sexual battery, will be decided at trial.
