Authorities reported that teenage actor Hudson Meek has passed away after falling from a moving vehicle in Alabama.
Meek, 16, was injured on December 19 while on a road in Vestavia Hills, a suburb of Birmingham. He passed away two days later, as reported by the Jefferson County coroner’s office.
The police department of Vestavia Hills, currently probing Meek’s death, has not released any statements to the public.
Meek appeared on screen for the first time in 2014’s The Santa Con and had parts in several TV shows, including MacGyver. He was likely most recognized for his part in the 2017 movie Baby Driver, where he portrayed a younger version of Ansel Elgort’s main character.
“His 16 years in this world were far too brief, yet he achieved so much and greatly influenced everyone he encountered,” a message on Meek’s Instagram account stated.
Meek participated in football at Vestavia Hills high school, liked Bible study sessions with his teammates, and had visited all 50 states. According to his obituary, he had a passion for snow skiing, creating music playlists for his friends, and performing in the school choir.
His family is arranging a funeral and memorial service on Saturday, which will be broadcast live on Meek’s Instagram account.
