The highly anticipated show Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives premiered on Netflix on October 18, bringing back the beloved Bollywood wives: Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, and Seema Sajdeh. This season, they are joined by Delhi’s own Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shalini Passi, and Kalyani Saha Chawla, adding fresh dynamics to the series.
In the inaugural episode, the ladies gather at the charming Fab Café in Sunder Nursery, Delhi, to enjoy breakfast and share stories from their glamorous lives. It’s a delightful blend of friendship and fun, setting the tone for a season filled with laughter and relatable moments.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni invites her Mumbai counterparts to celebrate the traditional festival of Karwa Chauth, and they eagerly accept. Neelam Kothari expresses her bittersweet feelings, saying, “It’s lovely that you are inviting us, but I will really miss being with Sunita this year. We have such an amazing time.” Sunita Kapoor, Anil Kapoor’s wife and Maheep Kapoor’s sister-in-law, is fondly remembered by the group, with a heartwarming snapshot of their previous celebrations showcased on-screen.
As the conversation unfolds, the ladies debate whether men should also fast for their wives during Karwa Chauth. Seema Sajdeh humorously remarks, “Men are big babies actually. They love to be pampered,” leading to a lively discussion among the women.
The highlight of the episode is a hilarious anecdote shared by Bhavana Pandey about a memorable Karwa Chauth incident. She recounts, “We were all women standing in a row, looking at the moon through our channis (strainers), with the men lined up behind us. Chunky decided, at the last minute, to go and pee. He always does this!”
What follows is a laugh-out-loud moment when Bhavana turns around, expecting to see her husband, only to find Boney Kapoor standing behind her instead! Maheep chimes in, finishing Bhavana’s thought with, “And he was Boney!”
Bhavana continues, “Chunky realized what had happened and rushed back. I was like, ‘Okay, back to the moon and back to Chunky!’”
This light-hearted moment captures the essence of the show, showcasing the fun, friendship, and occasional chaos that define the lives of these Bollywood wives.
