A look-alike contest for Drake in the rapper’s native city of Toronto received a lift from the artist, who surprisingly added $10,000 to the prize fund.
After learning of the themed contest, Drake — recognized as Billboard’s year-end Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist — contacted the organizer Casuals Cakery via Instagram with a direct message, which the bakery saved and later shared on its grid a few days before the event.
“I’m including 10 bands in the look-alike contest as the top prize,” Drake communicated through a direct message to Casuals Cakery, who responded (with emojis that accurately expressed their reaction), “Just let me take a minute to stop hyperventilating this moment.” “I can’t believe this is your account and that you’re aware of this, oh my gosh, I adore you.”

“I’m hardly able to type, and an entire jolt went through my body.” Indeed, this is genuine and accurate, and I trust the Drake lookalikes are prepared. “LET’S GOOOOO,” the bakery wrote in its post.

The contest — highlighting creativity, entertainment, and celebrating Drake’s style, named the “Drake Eras Lookalike Contest” — took place at Apt 200 in Toronto on Saturday (Dec. 14). Prior to Drake enhancing the offer, the initial prize for the winner included a “Certified Toronto Manz Pack” featuring a bottle of Hennessy, a pack of Backwoods, and some unspecified “other prizes.”
The host shared various videos on Instagram, showcasing clips of the Drake contestants and winners in action, along with numerous photos from Saturday night.
Drake acknowledged his participation by posting several of those clips on Instagram Stories. “I adore this city,” he remarked, adding four crying-laughing emojis.
