Diddy has attempted to get bail for the fourth time in his current sex trafficking case, but a decision is still pending.
The troubled tycoon attended a bail hearing in a New York City courtroom, accompanied by six of his seven children, his mother, and his former partners Sarah Chapman and Misa Hylton.
Diddy’s bail amount of $50 million includes using his Miami Beach mansion as collateral, as well as house arrest, round-the-clock security, and a restriction from contacting potential victims or witnesses. Although the judge hasn’t made a decision yet, he quickly pointed out that house arrest is not an option due to the presence of a dock at the Miami residence.
Diddy’s lawyers then suggested different choices, such as his three-bedroom Manhattan apartment. Before Thanksgiving, there will be a last call.
If bail is denied, it is probable that Puff will stay in jail until his trial on May 5, 2025.
The announcement comes as Diddy’s legal team alleges that prosecutors tampered with the security footage showing him attacking Cassie in order to prevent his release on bail.
In a legal document submitted on Thursday (November 21), the mogul’s lawyers claimed that prosecutors presented the judge with a different copy of the tape compared to the one released by CNN earlier this year.
One of Diddy’s attorneys, Alex Shapiro, stated that the video had been altered, leaving out important scenes and showing events in a misleading sequence.
She also claimed that it was “a modified, manipulated rendition of the video released by CNN.”
Diddy and his team enlisted the services of a forensic video analyst to examine footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie in 2016. The analyst asserts that the video presented to the judge excludes certain footage and does not portray the events accurately.
A disagreement arises as prosecutors allege the Bad Boy boss tossed a vase at Cassie, while his lawyers argue he only threw the vase’s contents – believed to be a bouquet of flowers – at his former girlfriend.
The accusations have not been addressed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Diddy has consistently refuted that the assault video proves any involvement in sex trafficking or connection to his rumored “freak off” sex gatherings, asserting instead that it was a personal matter between a couple.
