An emotional update on Davina McCall’s recuperation after surgery for a benign brain tumor has been published. Speaking from her bed, the TV host acknowledged that she has been experiencing problems with her short-term memory but was hopeful that it will improve. She also mentioned that she has been writing things down to feel more safe.
McCall thanked her fans for their support throughout what she called a “mad” and difficult period in an emotional Instagram video. She expressed her thankfulness for being on the “other side” of the surgery and that she was glad to be home.
In addition to the video, McCall reaffirmed her gratitude for the supportive letters she has received. As she improves gradually but steadily, she remarked that taking naps during the day and getting a good night’s sleep in bed help her keep her head clear.
Following a health scan provided by a company in exchange for her participation in a menopausal talk, the 57-year-old broadcaster disclosed her diagnosis earlier this month, stating that she had discovered the unusual colloid cyst, a disorder that affects three in a million individuals.
Throughout her recuperation, McCall acknowledged the essential care and support she received from her stepmother, Gabby, and her partner, Michael Douglas. She broke down as she thanked Gabby, whom she refers to as “mum,” for being a constant in her life and said she doesn’t thank her enough.
Thinking back on her strained relationship with her birth mother, Florence McCall, who died in 2008, McCall thanked her stepmother from the bottom of her heart for her continuous support and described her as an “amazing rock.”
McCall, who described her current condition as a “massive dose of vitamin G” and reiterated how fortunate she feels, expressed her profound thankfulness for her life despite the difficulties. According to her, she is sleeping, recuperating, and getting better. She attributed her recuperation to the love and support she has gotten from her loved ones and admirers.
A number of celebs responded to McCall’s great update with words of support and happiness, including Craig David, Zoe Ball, and Alison Hammond. Their messages demonstrated how widely the adored TV personality is admired.
Prior to becoming a household name as the host of Big Brother from 2000 to 2010, McCall first gained notoriety as an MTV presenter in the 1990s. Currently hosting My Mum, Your Dad on ITV, she has had a successful career on a variety of networks.
Together with her partner, Michael Douglas, McCall, who received an MBE in 2023 for her achievements in broadcasting, balances her personal and professional lives. Since 2022, the couple has been living together and co-hosting the lifestyle podcast Making The Cut. McCall also has three children from his previous marriage to Matthew Robertson.
