Beyoncé Speaks About Her Three Children at the Houston Kamala Harris Rally

After rumors Beyoncé would be at the Democratic National Convention proved false in August, the “Crazy in Love” singer showed out for a surprise appearance at Kamala Harris’ Houston rally.

The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer unexpectedly stopped by Vice President Kamala Harris’ gathering in her hometown of Houston.

“I’m not a famous person here. I’m not a politician here. “I’m here as a mother, a mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in,” Beyoncé declared from the stage. “A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided.”

The Grammy winner added, “Imagine our daughters growing up, seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations.” She and her husband, Jay-Z, have twins, Rumi and Sir, ages six and twelve, and Blue Ivy, twelve. Consider our grandmothers. Consider how those who have survived to witness this momentous day, even if they are not physically present with us, are feeling at this moment. Consider all of the sacrifices they made. the costs incurred in order to show us how strong a woman can be when she asserts her authority.”

Even though Beyoncé’s arrival thrilled fans, it wasn’t entirely unexpected. After all, earlier this week, NBC News was informed by people with firsthand knowledge of the event that she would be performing with the Democratic presidential contender.

Swift posted on Instagram on September 10th, “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.” “Her choice of running mate @timwalz, who has been advocating for IVF, LGBTQ+ rights, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades, really inspired and impressed me.”

Beyoncé’s most recent visit, meanwhile, occurs two months after it was rumored that she would be performing on August 22 at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. A Beyoncé representative eventually placed their cards down, down, down—revealing that the rumors of a possible presence that had been circulating on social media for days before the “XO” singer’s purported performance were false.

Beyoncé’s agent told the Hollywood Reporter that she was never supposed to be there. “The performance report is not accurate.”

No one could blame fans for getting their expectations up, though, considering Beyoncé’s preference for the element of surprise. Since the 43-year-old has delighted fans with appearances, concerts, and albums over the years, she rarely announces her next step.

Why does Beyoncé like to keep her fans in suspense? It all boils down to how she views fame and music-making.

“I focus on evolution, innovation, and shifting perception,” she told GQ in September. “When you don’t see me on red carpets, and when I disappear until I have art to share, that’s why.”
