Amaran trailer: “Achamillai, achamillai, acham enbathu illaye…Uchi meedhu vaan idinthu veezhkindra pothilum (I fear nothing…even if the sky breaks and falls on my head),” sings Major Mukund Varadarajan, played by Sivakarthikeyan. on his hands.
The candid moment was captured in the film by his wife Indu Rebecca Varghese, played by Sai Pallavi. It is hard to think of anything that sums up the essence of Mukunda’s life better than these lines from Subramania’s poem Bharati (Bharatiyar). So it’s no surprise that the makers of the war biopic Amaran decided to use this scene as a teaser for their upcoming film.
The 140 second promo video not only shows these adorable moments, but also explores Mukunda’s hectic life on the battlefield and at home, as his parents were initially wary of sending him to the army due to her volatile nature. But Mukunde’s determination eventually won them over and made him join the army.
“This is the face of the Indian Army,” declares Mukund at the end of the film. Blending drama with action, the trailer promises a sweeping narrative that captures the life and legacy of Major Mukunda Varadarajan, who was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra India’s highest peacetime military award for valor, bravery or self sacrifice off the battlefield. Mukund tragically lost his life in an encounter with militants in 2014 in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir.
