Originally planned to begin in January 2022, Adele’s Las Vegas residency was abruptly canceled just 24 hours before the first performance because of a COVID-19 epidemic among production crew and set design delays.
The residency was successfully launched later that year, with Adele performing every Friday and Saturday at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum Theatre, which was constructed for Celine Dion’s 2003 inaugural engagement.
Among the many unforgettable moments from Adele’s performances over the years is the emotional moment when she saw Celine Dion in the audience and started crying before the two singers gave each other a passionate embrace.
Adele, who has said she admires Dion, was clearly touched by the interaction. The two singers now have a deeper regard for one another after Dion commended Adele’s skill and artistry.
In addition to captivating audiences with her performances, the London-born singer, who is well-known for her chart-topping albums 19, 21, 25, and 30, has garnered media attention for her open conversations with fans while on residency.
Adele’s defense of a fan who was fervently singing along to Water Under the Bridge was one such instance. A security guard and another audience member advised the fan to sit down for obstructing the view.
Adele stopped her performance to tell the security guard to “leave him alone” after noticing the situation. After the encounter, the fan thanked Adele for defending him on TikTok.
Adele’s Las Vegas performances haven’t always gone as planned, though. An audience member apparently shouted, “Pride sucks,” during her performance in June, to which she reacted aggressively.
“Did you come to my concert and just scream that Pride sucks?” Adele publicly chastised the person. Don’t be so absurd. Stop talking if you have nothing kind to say. Later on, she acknowledged that she became easily agitated, characterizing herself as “old and grumpy now.”
Adele, who is well-known for songs like “Rolling in the Deep,” “Hello,” “Someone Like You,” and “Easy On Me,” is still regarded as one of the most renowned musicians in spite of these situations.
After finishing her current tour, Adele stated in July that she will take a long hiatus from performing. “My tank is quite empty at the minute,” she said, revealing that she was feeling both creatively and emotionally spent.
Adele said that she does not currently have any plans to release any new songs in an interview with the German station ZDF. She stated that she wanted to take a break from her stressful job and pursue other creative endeavors.
Adele admitted that she seldom ever sings at home, describing it as “strange” and highlighting the need for a musical vacation. She said she misses the privacy she had before becoming famous as she considered the impact celebrity has had on her life.
Fame is something she “absolutely hates,” she said, even though she values the chance to make songs and the response it gets. It’s often difficult to strike a balance between celebrity and craft, but the latter makes it worthwhile, she continued.
Adele has always wanted to avoid the spotlight. After completing her residency in Las Vegas in 2022, she expressed her desire to pursue a degree in English literature.
In an interview with fans in Los Angeles, Adele disclosed that she probably would have been an English literature teacher if she hadn’t chosen to pursue a career in music.
She talked about how her love of English literature informs her songwriting and mentioned how she would like to experience college life, even if it means studying online with a tutor.
Adele stated, “That’s my plan… just to get the qualification,” confirming her intention to seek a degree in English literature in 2025. This represents a new phase in her quest for self-discovery and personal development outside of music.
